A Custom Home Builder The Sweet Spot Between Architect and Project Builder

A Custom Home Builder The Sweet Spot Between Architect and Project Builder

Posted 2016-05-31 by katrifollow
So you’re thinking about building a new home… A home that’s individually designed and built to reflect the tastes, ideas and lifestyle of you and your family. And just to complicate matters, perhaps you have a challenging block.

You know that a project builder will not offer the level of individual design, finish, craftsmanship and personal service you’re looking for.

You may have even considered engaging an architect to design something for you.

But you’re a little wary. You may have heard horror stories about architect-designed homes and budget blow-outs.

Choosing a custom home builder is a solution that’s a happy medium between an architect-designed home on one hand and a mass-produced project home on the other.

A CUSTOM HOME BUILDER OFFERS INDIVIDUAL DESIGN AND A SMOOTH, COST- CONTROLLED BUILD

Rosmond Custom Homes is one of Perth’s leading custom home builders.

We can offer you the best of both worlds:

An individually designed home with architectural presence and an interior designer fitout. A smooth, stress-free building process that keeps costs under control. We offer a complete design and build service, in contrast to a separate architect and builder.

This brings many advantages because our designers, cost estimators and builders work as an integrated team. All our team members collaborate with each other on a daily basis so they understand what design solutions can achieve the optimum value within your budget.

And because we’re all on the same team, everyone works together with military precision for a stress-free experience.

LET’S TALK ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN - YOUR INTRODUCTORY MEETING IS FREE

So what’s the next step? An in-person introductory meeting with Rosmond’s building and design consultant costs you nothing – and it’s a great way to workshop your ideas and get some expert advice on just what’s possible.

The more you think through your brief before the meeting, the more you’ll get out of it. Come prepared with details of your block of land, the style you prefer (for example, classic or contemporary), your accommodation must-haves and nice-to-haves (for example, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, home office, home theatre) plus any special requests.

For more information on preparing for your introductory meeting, see How to Brief Your Custom Home Builder.

Once we get an idea of the type of home you have in mind we may be able to show you some similar homes we’ve designed and built in the past.

But it’s worth remembering that the best thing about building a custom home is that we can also start with a blank canvas and design a home to your individual specifications.

If you want to take things further after your introductory meeting, your building and design consultant will provide you with a Design Preparation Agreement (DPA) to sign so we can commence the design process.

LET’S TALK INTERIOR DESIGN – OUR INTERIOR DESIGNER IS ON THE HOUSE

If you watch TV shows like The Block, you’ll know that the interior details are everything. Selecting the materials, colours and finishing touches for your new home can be an exhilarating experience or it can feel a little overwhelming.

That’s why Rosmond Custom Homes provides you with an experienced interior designer to guide you with your selections.

IS BUILDING A CUSTOM HOME EXPENSIVE?

Building a custom home doesn’t have to be expensive. Rosmond Custom Homes has built everything from relatively modest homes to modern mansions.
