How to Organize Plastic Bags

Have you ever felt frustrated pulling out a bunch of plastic bags when you just needed one? Plastic bags which are unsorted and unfolded can be quite an eye sore in the kitchen if they are not stored away from sight.

There are many ways to store plastic bags systematically to avoid frustration when attempting to pull one out of the bin. Recycled material such as tissue box and paper wipe bottle can be used to store plastic bags for easy access. Simply fold them neatly before putting them into the tissue box. Likewise for paper wipe bottle, stack the plastic bags up and roll them together before putting them in the bottle. Just pull out one bag each time you need it.

I've been storing plastic bags inside a drawer but unfortunately the drawer space tends to fill up the quickly when they are not folded before hand. It may sound crazy to fold plastic bags but it is not too difficult and the job can be done while watching TV or waiting for the water to boil. It will save you from all the frustration and help to unclutter the storage space.


To organize the plastic bags neatly inside a drawer, start by folding the plastic bags with a few simple steps.


Step 1: Flatten and smoothen the bag
Step 2: Fold it in half
Step 3: Fold it in half again (if the bag is huge).


Step 4: Take a point at the bottom and fold it up to make a triangle.
Step 5: Continue to fold alongside the triangle and work your way up to the end (near the handle)
Step 6: Leave the excess


Step 7: Make a small opening of the flap
Step 8: Insert the excess part inside the flap
Step 9: Completed! (Gently press it down to release trapped air.)


The drawer looks tidier now and it takes up less storage space.

The other advantage of having the bags folded is that you can easily keep a few of them in your handbags (for ladies) without taking too much space and not having to worry about forgetting your recycled bag for grocery shopping next time.
