Setting Up a Meditation Space in your Home
Setting up a great meditation space in your home is easier than you think
If you're someone who chooses to take up this daily ritual for inner peace and calm; you get that it is only practical to meditate in the home. For starters, you've been to a meditation course or two, and the instructors always purport that it is necessary to set up a private meditation space in your home. Regardless as to whether or not you live alone, or you live with others; setting up a bliss meditation space in your home is rather straightforward once you get the essentials down pat. If you have a spare room in your home, this is a great room to set up as your meditation space, otherwise a corner of another room in your home is fine also.
1. How do you like to meditate?
Is it either sitting up, or sitting on the floor? If you prefer to meditate sitting up, it is wise to invest in a chair solely for meditating. That way your mind knows that you're setting aside some private, inner work time in your home. On the other hand, if you want to sit cross legged on the floor, you'll need a comfortable cushion to sit on. Ensure this cushion also stays in your meditation space in the home.

2. Candles
Great for meditating in the home. A small jar based candle is enough to allow your eyes to gaze at the flame, of which is intended to be your focal point. Remember to cut the wick after each use. This technique helps you focus on meditating in the home. If your meditation space turns into a decorative piece at other times, remember to put the small candle away, and use a larger candle while not meditating in this particular living space in your home. Even if you choose to meditate with your eyes closed, lighting a candle is still ideal.

3. Objects
Spiritual objects that help you meditate need to be placed into this space. Even if you have a photo or a piece of art of your spiritual guru, then have these objects in your meditation space as well, or place some other relaxing piece of art that resonates with you.

4. Music
It is entirely your choice, as to whether or not you wish to meditate with some relevant music while meditating privately at home. If so, have the music nearby in your meditation space, and ideally in a drawer if at all possible.
