Revive your kitchen in a few simple steps
The kitchen has become a lot more than just a room where you prepare food. These days the kitchen is often the center of the house, the place where families spend most of their time together, and the hearth of the home. With that in mind, you don't want the most important room in the house to be boring, bland and ancient looking. Here are a few tips to revive your old kitchen and turn it into a place you'll enjoy spending your time in.

1 – Repaint your old kitchen cabinets. This is an excellent tip if you want to save money. Instead of buying brand new expensive cabinets, if yours are structurally sound, simply put on a fresh layer of paint and the whole room will take on another dimension. All you need is some paint and elbow grease!
2 – Install a pull out shelf. To maximize space in your kitchen, a pull out shelf is often the most practical solution. If your kitchen is a bit smaller this is a great way to save space, while not ruining the aesthetic of your kitchen.

3 – Get a new countertop. A countertop is often the center piece of the kitchen , and you want yours to be stunning. Since you'll be doing most of the work there a quartz or granite countertop is usually the best choice.
4 – Add a plate rack. Another great way to freshen up your kitchen and show off your favourite plates. A plate rack is a simple, cheap trick to liven up your kitchen and freeing up some much needed space.
5 – Three words – cabinet crown molding. Nothing screams elegance quite like cabinet crown molding. This simple detail will add a whole new dimension to your kitchen by really putting it together as one solid piece. Although crown molding might seem expensive, it is very easy to install and if you do it yourself you won't strain your budget too much. Get working and before you know it your kitchen will look like something out of a magazine!
6 – Set a theme. For that „wow“ factor you want your whole kitchen to follow a theme.
Combine the right furniture , colours, cabinets and your kitchen will look like something out of a magazine!
7 – Replace old hardware. As simple and tiny this seems, it can really change the look of your kitchen. Unscrew your old cabinet and drawer handles and install shiny new ones. This can turn your kitchen from antique to modern and exciting with a few turns of a screwdriver. If you want to go all out completely resurfacing your cabinets is also a great idea, although a bit pricier and more complicated.
8 – Paint the kitchen. If repainting the cabinets isn't enough for you, painting your kitchen a fresh,
bright color can really make the room shine . If you have a smaller kitchen, a light color can create the illusion of a bigger space. It's also great for covering up those nasty little nicks and dents on your kitchen.

9 – Accessorize. A cheap trick, buying some accessories such as flower vases, fruit baskets and even art can help spruce up your kitchen. A fantastic way to bring some character to your kitchen without straining your wallet too much.
10 – Change the lighting. Lighting can make or break a room. A lack of lighting provides a gloomy, closed feeling, but too much lighting can also make the space seem invasive and sterile, and you don’t want your kitchen to look like a hospital waiting room. If you want to buy some new chandeliers and toy around with the lighting, you can even try out some colored lights. Another way of doing this is installing some under cabinet lighting for that cool, modern look.
So what are you waiting for? Roll up your sleeves and get to work; your kitchen will never be the same!
