Get Rid of Ants

Spring is here and the weather is warming up. Are you starting to worry about the sneaky critters invading your home? Yes, I'm talking about ants! Although they are often harmless compared to other domestic pests, it is annoying to see them crawling on the floor in the house.

Ants are mainly attracted to source of food hence it is important to prevent them from finding food by using some simple tips and tricks.

There are many ways to deter ants from coming in to your household naturally or with the help of pest-control products.


Ant-Rid Ant Bait
This product helps to combat indoor ant problems by placing bait station near the ant trails. It contains a delayed formula with food source which worker ants bring back to the nest for others including the queen before dying. The bait station needs to be replaced every three months or once it's consumed.


Floor Cleaner
Simply spray floor cleaning solution on the entry point as well as the ant trail. Then wipe it off with a paper towel. It is a quick and easy method to battle ants.


Dried Chilli Pepper Flakes
Place some dried chilli flakes around the corners of the kitchen, or on areas where ants are seen. Chilli flakes seem to be a more effective ant repellent compared to chilli powder. Other natural ingredients such as bay leaves and cinnamon stick seem to work well too.


Caulk
Seal up any gaps or cracks at home with caulk to prevent ants from crawling through. This method is effective, safe and inexpensive to ward off ants.


Proper Food Storage
Food storage is probably the most important steps in combating ants problem food is the main source of attracting ants. Food should be stored in airtight containers or in the fridge whenever possible. Do not leave unfinished food lying around.


Regular Cleaning
Clean the floor regularly to get rid of bits and pieces of food off the floor. Wipe down the kitchen area after cooking and keep the sink clean from dirty dishes. Even the smallest food particle will attract a line of ants crawling to it.
