Essential Wardrobe Items for the Spring Racing Carnivals

You don't have to be living in Melbourne to make the most of the Spring Racing Carnival season. Even if you happen to be living in Sydney, or anywhere else in the country, it is essential (and less stressful) if you have a few of these key items in your wardrobe to prepare you for a great day out at the races. That way you'll feel fantastic while sipping on some sparkles indeed.

1. Fascinator

If fascinators do not resonate with you, you can opt for alternative headwear to the likes of a hat, a headband, and/or a hair clip or two. Have such items in your home wardrobe that align beautifully with a bun. Otherwise, buying such head pieces (more so fascinators) are easily sought at department stores such as David Jones and Myer .



2. Dresses

Pretty dresses at retailers such as Review are quite affordable, and they're fantastic to wear during the races, and just when Spring has finally sprung in general. Bear in mind that different racing events depict a different dress code. Melbourne Cup is all about your bright and pinky colours, as well as patterned dresses. Derby Day is a black and white dress day, while Oaks Day is all about those floral dresses. Essential to have a bit of each in you home wardrobe for a cool girls day out, or time with your partner at the races.



3. Shoes

You'll be on your feet for quite a while, and therefore practicality is the aim here. Invest in a pair of suitable shoes with a thicker heel as opposed to straight high heels. A given, wear your shoes a few times (as long as you need) to wear them in, in order to avoid blisters on the big day. Remember those band aids too.
