Wooden chopping boards in the home can be versatile
Plastic chopping boards are fantastic when it comes to cooking and preparing food, and they're also dishwasher friendly. Therefore, why is there still a need to use wooden chopping boards in the home?
One of the plusses to using a wooden chopping board, is that they're fantastic for taking hot foods out of the oven, to then sit on something while cooling down for a few minutes before serving. Wooden chopping boards are fat and bulky, and they also add some old school charm to the kitchen decor. If you prefer to wash your chopping board/s in the sink, as opposed to putting them in the dishwasher; then wood is your friend.
Some people still use wooden chopping boards for buttering bread, and for handling other dry foods. Agreed, the plastic is divine for wetter foods come preparation time, for soups and cutting fish to name. What other purposes does the wooden chopping board serve in the home?
