Your garden can be decorated in many a way, and one of the most important part of any will be the pathway. If you manage to find the right material and idea to have for your garden, it will be like walking on sunshine. The next 8 ideas are great because you can do them yourself.

Go With Gravel

While it might seem that your garden will look dirty and untidy, gravel is one of your friendliest solutions. The good side is that gravel is cheap to get and easy to maintain. Then again, if the weather gets awry, it could mess up your design.

A Zen Approach

Using sand for your pathway is a real challenge. Even though it will be quite easy to get it and to maintain it, you will have some difficulty keeping it tidy and in check. Bear in mind that with sand, every footprint will be visible, which could ruin the serene sense of your garden.

Make It Seem Like All Is Part of the Garden

Turf is a way to create a comfortable pathway, but, you will have to look out for its high maintenance factor. Moreover, if you are not careful enough, and if the weather goes south, all of the turf could turn into a big pile of mud. Make sure to invest in this, only if you have time to keep it tidy.

Keep It Simple

Even though some pathway materials can be quite expensive, it is worthy to note that most of them will be easy to use, and will decorate your garden nicely. Keep in mind that building a stone path is perhaps the easiest, but it will cost you some money. Maintenance is easy, and installing it will be take you only a couple of days.

Recycling Your Garden Pathway

You can use wood mulch you have left over, or borrow it from whoever wants to throw it away. Moreover, it is an inexpensive material you can easily lay down, and it will look absolutely amazing as it will blend in with your garden. On the other side, it will also reduce the chances of weed growing along the pathway. Just remember to replenish yearly.

Simple and Easy

In order to give your garden that amazing look, and to make you feel like you are going through heaven, be sure to find travertine tiles for your project. These tiles are easy to cut, come in many shapes and colours, and will fit nicely with any garden. The range of various shapes makes it versatile and easy to install.

Rock Solid

Granite is your best option if you want to go for something that will last for years to come, with almost no maintenance at all. But, be prepared to pay the high price, as it can be rather expensive. Moreover, you have to plan out exactly which shapes you want, as it is hard to cut granite.

Use Bricks

You can find inexpensive bricks or in most cases you can recycle some of the old ones you have lying around. It will take some time to make the pathway, but it will require almost no maintenance. Though, try to keep a single colour scheme going, to make the pathway look nice.

No matter which material you choose, you can install it yourself, and it will only take a bit of time. Furthermore, when doing your own DIY, you have the freedom to add your personal touches, to create even more amazing art. Keep in mind the price and maintenance level of certain materials.
