Whenever Summer starts drawing to an end and Fall approaches at an alarming rate, it is time to start thinking about those little changes that you can make to your décor to give your home a seasonal makeover. It is the time of year when we all want to use some extra plush throws and cushions and scatter some scented candles around to create a cosy little nest for the cooler nights, but there is so much more than that when it comes to fall décor.
Let's take a look at some of the top décor trends that you are going to want to try out this Fall:
With the colder weather drawing in bare flooring can be a little chilly for your feet, so why not get ready for Fall by adding some beautiful throw rugs to rooms with non-carpeted floors. Right now, Persian rugs are right on trend and as luck would have it most of them come in very 'Fall appropriate' color palettes! Place them under the kitchen table, in front of your seating area or even at the end of your bed.
It's All About Brass

This coming Fall season, accessories are all about brass! Think lamps, mirrors, picture frames and even ornaments. Brass is a great way to bring in a touch of Fall without going for the usual deep reds and burnt oranges that are the go to colors for the season. Brass is everywhere right now and even if you can't afford to splash out on some antiques, you are likely to find some nice bargain pieces in places like Target and Anthropologie. Brass is a lovely warm metal unlike chrome, and perfect for Fall.
As noted above, way too often we all turn to reds and golds and oranges for the fall season. This year, the trend is for something a little bit different. Instead of those obvious choices, why not go for some Indigo Blue? Teaming those brass pieces with some Indigo throws and pillows is going to be a gorgeous combination and will give a very classy Fall look.
The Curated Look

One of the biggest interior design trends for Fall is going to be the curated look. This is a great way to collect and display lots of little odd things that you love. This look is all about mismatched items, but it does work best with rustic or vintage looking items so think wood, leather and of course brass in order to put together a quirky curated Fall display.
Vignettes are totally on trend right now and Fall is always a great season to create something interesting. You will want to group between three and five different items together, but instead of just sticking with the usual Fall staples like gourds, baskets and apples why not also incorporate some old books, a brass serving dish and some other quirky items to create an interesting juxtaposition of textures and themes.
Re-dress Your Bed
An easy way to give your bedroom a seasonal update for Fall is to simply re-dress the bed with new bedding in the Fall color options. Don't forget, this Fall it is all about that rich Indigo Blue. Why not choose Indigo bedding and team it with some accents of more traditional Fall colours like burnt orange and a dark, almost burgundy red. This is a gorgeous and luxurious looking Fall color scheme!
Switch Out Your Artwork
It is always nice to switch out your artwork as the seasons change, so why not look out for some pieces that had a warm, Fall feel to them. You might want to swap your beach landscape painting for a forest theme or maybe even remove a single, large piece of artwork and replace it with a gallery wall. There are lots of different possibilities.
Bring The Outside In
There is one Fall trend that pretty much remains a constant year after year and that is, of course, using some of the natural outdoor items in your interior décor. This might include leaves, vines, gourds, wood and any other harvest style of items. There is nothing wrong with indulging in this tradition, but do try to give it a bit of a modern interpretation. Think about what you could combine those natural items with to make it more stylish. How about placing your harvest style vignette on a luxurious silk runner and maybe including some brass candlesticks or a charger plate? It is these little touches that are going to bring a touch of unique style to your fall décor.
These are just a few of the different Fall trends that you might want to consider when planning your Fall décor. There is no need to completely redecorate, you can welcome the new season with just a few Fall touches.
